Sidmouth was delighted to receive a visit this February from two Fair Trade Growers from the Kuapa Kokoo Coop in Ghana. Our visitors were very busy whilst they were in Sidmouth talking to the pupils at Sidmouth Primary School. The visitors showed videos of the Cocoa Trade, and spoke about Climate Change and Fair Pay for farmers in West Africa.
After lunch they moved on St Teresa’s Hall giving a presentation to the general public with Tea and Cakes attended by Simon Jupp, the East Devon MP while an amazing display of Fairtrade items was on sale,
Later that weekend, there was a coffee morning with a raffle, children’s story time and refreshments and on the Sunday, many local people enjoyed a Community Breakfast at the Methodist Hall again including a sale of Fairtrade food and crafts.
